First camping trip of the Summer

July 8, 2018

Hedgehog Corner Camping is the perfect location for a weekend camping the Jurassic Coast in Dorset.

The campsite is made up of only 10 pitches making it quiet and calm. The camping field is at the back of owner Joy’s house, and is an open field with pitches along each side. Joy is very enthusiastic and friendly, she’ll show you around on arrival and let you pitch up wherever suits you best. The campsite is great for a peaceful stay, it’s adults only and the limit of 10 pitches means it won’t ever feel crowded. Joy loves a sign and there’s plenty up around the campsite so you’ll never be unsure of what’s what.

The location of Hedgehog Corner is great, close to the sea and ideal for exploring the Jurassic coast. River Cottage run by Hugh Fearnley Wittingstall is also nearby. It’s cycle-able from the campsite and you can head there for a delicious meal of home grown seasonal food and local produce. Book onto the Sunday lunch if you can, it was amazing and great for vegetarians!

There’s a saved Instagram story if you want to see more highlights of the trip. A couple of other places in the area to mention are Beer beach and breakfast at Hive Beach Cafe.
